As an official production partner at this year’s highly anticipated LeWeb ’11 Conference, JESS3 attended the conference to contribute what its best known for: beautiful data visualizations. The catch? The infographics would be created in real-time. With the help of data partners Radian6, the JESS3 team created an infographic for each day of the conference using the topics discussed by the panelists in attendance as well as the topics most widely discussed in the social media.
JESS3's own Director of Information Design, Robin Richards, shares his unique background and perspectives with industry pub Communication Arts. A must read for any aspiring infographic / data visualization designers.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to create content as a public service, we had the opportunity to partner with Blackboard to visualize the "Active Learner" in the context of the state of education experience. As Blackboard notes on their blog: "Digital natives become the majority in classrooms and lecture halls, we are at critical turning point in education. What’s that light around the corner? A world where everyone in education can access infinite teaching tools, information, and analytics from anywhere at any time. A world where all kinds of education activities, from discussions to lectures to collaboration, can be done virtually."
JESS3's latest infographic The Connected Workspace was featured on Mashable.com. Teaming up with our long time content partners Mindjet, we visualized the benefits of social technology using leveraged data from McKinsey. Interesting highlights from the infographic include the finding that social technology could improve the productivity of some workers by 20-25%, and also that only 3% of companies using social tech are "fully networked" and are "benefiting substantially." Our infographic asks an important question to the modern day working class. What sort of social tech does your company leverage?
JESS3's AdAge feature highlights their Small Agency of the Year, Southeast, Gold award. The feature also adds insight to JESS3 and its founders. AdAge's Cotton Delo writes, "Standing out as a creative agency is difficult, but JESS3 was incorporated in 2008 with a specialty: data visualizations to make marketers' streams of analytics, purchase and social-exhaust data beautiful and digestible." JESS3 President, Co-founder and COO Leslie Bradshaw commented on the secret to JESS3's success, "A lot of our strategies and the way we run our company are digitally native."
For the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, JESS3 worked closely with processor-powerhouse Intel to design and develop the first ever social media data visualization to run at CES entirely in HTML5 and CSS3. The geosocial heat map was the most popular feature, showing what was "hot" on the show floor in real-time.
