app in a day - progress report 1
zvi and I are off to a good start with the conceptualizing of the user experience for our app in a day project, and eric is helping with branding, naming and logos, greg threw out some good ones too, Jay Meattle is serving as our adviser and has kept us on track.

kicking around ideas, refining thoughts.
the idea is....
friend statistics, a full featured data visualization centric statistics app. with a really nice quiz feature. the quiz questions will be based on your friend consensus data. example "what is the most active wall poster in your network?" which we would then show 5 headshots, and perhaps the text of each's most recent wall post.

we still dont have a name or a branding style, but we do have the high level concept pretty much nailed.
name ideas, we can't have "face" or "book" in the name

ill get back to work, and update you later!

friend compare is looking to be quite interesting, the ability to compare up to 2 other friends with your info and highlight similarities and differences. this would then publish a new feed item that says "jesse just compared himself to zvi band, and leslie bradshaw" which would link to the comparison page. it will show a google map image of the approx location, and even tell you the distance between you and your friend/s

Keep up the good work!
Data visualization is the shiz. I vote for anything with Stats in the name. Maybe "facestats" - and I like the fatstat and statfat ones.
facestats if it's facebook specific sounds good.
i think it's also a good idea to track who's viewing your page, friend or not, assuming your page is public.
Sounds interesting, I would want to know things like who has the most friends total, or the most friends in certain areas or cities. How about Frizzle Statizzle?
this already exists. check out socialistics i think. not as visual as you are talking but lots of graphs and charts.
yes brian socialistics is a good reference point, they do the cloud and picturewall really well.
it also has lots of errors and doesnt look good.
I vote for tomodachi. Easy to say, educated geek cred.
And if there's a similar app named socialistics, you can win by not being named socialistics.
@wwb
The only problem being, as with most of these "buzzword" names, that in general if users are searching by application name the name doesn't actually describe what the application does [unless they're native to the language ;)]. I kind of realised that as soon as I submitted!
Agree with the socialistics issue, but if you are able to deliver a better executed product then you should be laughing.
Looking good ... amistat (ami meaning friend in french)

F'ing awesome. So much data there to troll, genius! People love to be competitive about stuff.
