a second life joystick
I have been playing around with secondlife.. and after reading all the hype and analyzing it.. I think that its alot of fluff. All the concepts have been done before..create your own space and customize it.. done (simcity, the sims.. etc)
walk around and experiment with different areas.. done (halo, grand theft auto, tony hawk)
the only thing that is new it seems is that you have a currency and that the world is open source..
the more I think about it. secondlife is like halo without guns.. and who doesn't want guns?
The thing that annoys me is how you interface with secondlife.. you use it via a internet enabled computer and have to have a live connection (and fast too).. but you are using your keyboard..
I think someone should create a specialized controller to plug in to the usb or firewire plug and let you walk around like you are use to...

you totally miss the concept of secondlife. SL isn't a "game". If you prefer shit like the sims thats fine, but SecondLife isn't meant to be a game akin to the sims or halo or anything else, so criticizing it for not having guns etc is a bit baseless. If it had guns it'd need a plot, and an aim and a goal etc which would make it just another generic game.
Secondlife lets you BUILD whatever you want - not just purchase a pre-made building, but you can build anything you want, pixel by pixel, frame by frame and you these objects can be set up to react/animate however you want them to - so you could make a giraffe that breathes fire etc. You're not Dependant on whatever EA is gonna "provide"; you can build whatever you want yourself!
As for being keyboard only - this again points to rather obvious conclusion that it is not a GAME, it's a simulation. And, fyi, there are controllers out there specifically for secondlife, and implementations for using any generic USB joypad with it.
Go back to nintendogs.
