This is the first "Missing Manual" I have read, but it won’t be the last. The iPod manual is a bit of a struggle and of course lacks the background and perspective that the "Missing Manual" offers. I found the author to not only be very knowledgeable, but to present that knowledge in such a way that in most cases, held my attention and allowed me to follow the steps without a problem. The tone was light-hearted without catering to the lowest common denominator.

Of particular use was the section on formats and how this relates to file size and clarity. Also useful was the section on file transfers as this is not covered in the iPod manual. The author seems to have a Mac, as all the chapters start with how to perform the tasks via a Mac. 90% of us have PCs. A small point in an otherwise extremely useful (missing) manual
