about Super Obama World

http://superobamaworld.com

leslie is playing a pretty funny political flash game. its an obvious copy of super mario world from nintendo 64, and the whole game is essentially one big sarah palin reference after another.

there is a bridge to nowhere that has a sign to alaska. and lobbyists and pigs (representing pork spending).

about Fake NYTimes Prank

Finally, the morning paper brings some good news. The paper of record appears to be reporting that the war in Iraq has ended and that Troops to Return Immediately. Also, Labor Dept. Launches Job Creation Program. And Court Indicts Bush on High Treason Charge.

More locally, New York Bike Path System Expanded Dramatically.

As Gawker's Hamilton Nolan has pointed out, these headlines are not from The New York Times, but a parody issue distributed throughout New York City this morning. The close—but typographically errant—facsimile of The Times is apparently the work of The Yes Men, a Yippie!-ish collective of media and political pranksters featured in a 2003 documentary.

The fake Times, which is full of ads for Halliburton subsidiary KBR, ExxonMobil, and weirdly, subway staple Jonathan Zizmor, M.D., purports to be from July 4, 2009. When Media Mob was handed a copy on Broadway and 18th and asked the guy in a New York Times apron to explain its provenance, he said in a puckish French accent, "I don't know."

Of course, this isn't the first fake paper to hit the streets. See: Off The Wall Street Journal (and April's redux) and SPY's 1992 Democratic National Convention parody of The New York Times.

about LaserGames

the YouTube link to the LaserGames vid

LaserGames is a means of controlling games and applications on any scale using a laser pointer. I'm sure you've seen laser controlled bits of coolness in one form or another but I'd like to think I just raised the bar a bit - mouse emulation means you can play whatever you want to throw at it (versus using a dedicated app made in mxp or vvvv or whatevs). In this clip you see a 2000 lumens projector, and the laser pointer is of the typical 5mw red diode keychain variety. When I have some time, I'm going to get set up outdoors and let people on the street have some fun with it. I just got it working with simultaneous red and green pointers so we got multi-player action coming up.

about Inamo - interactive menu experience

powered by uwink

quoted from springwise

The impatient and hungry tech-heads of London have been given a new treat with the launch of Inamo, a pan-Asian restaurant that has canned the traditional printed menu in favour of an interactive ordering system. An illustrated menu is projected onto the diners' touch-sensitive table, which also lets customers personalize the décor of the booth by selecting sounds and animated, projected table 'cloths'. While waiting for their meal—the pan-Asian menu was created by head chef Anthony Sousa Tam, previously of Nobu, Ubon and Hakkasan—diners can use the touch-table to watch a live feed of their chefs at work, or to find information on what's happening in the neighbourhood. Should the evening be going well, courting couples can use the system to book a taxi home, or if the evening descends into kill-me-now silence, rescue is at hand in the form of the system's built-in games.

The restaurant's inspiration came from the founders' frustrations at inattentive waiters when dining elsewhere. However, this doesn't mean Inamo is devoid of the human touch: food is brought to the table by staff members, who are also on hand to answer diners' questions. The restaurant's designers also wisely avoided a tech-inspired décor, instead creating a look that's fresh and attractive, with technology offered not as the main course, but as an integrated enhancement.

about palin was a fatal error

I am a huge Obama supporter and we at JESS3 are all really happy about last nights victory.

The appeal of Palin, an attractive young female, with a unique story, and some interesting leadership. She is funny and can captivate small town america in an old school kind of way. But!!!! one problem, Sarah Palin lacks any sort of credibility with a sophisticated audience because she is stupid. She is a romantic comedy, and smart people dont like romantic comedies mixed in with their political thrillers. After 8 years of someone like GW, the republicans should of played their cards better and put a really smart attractive moderate conservative on the ticket. White voters in middle america that want to have a reason to not vote for Obama would of perhaps voted republican, like they did when Gore and Kerry lost. It seems like Obama won because the republicans put an old guy and a stupid girl on the ticket. But also because Barack is awesome and good looking and well spoken and has great experience ... etc

Lesson learned: its always about looks, stupidity is hard to pull off 2 times in a row, do what is right, cheaters dont win.

I wanna see some Asian people in politics! how about a hot asian women candidate in 2012? or a smooth talking dood from el salvador?
